Urge Chevron to clean up in Ecuador
The ongoing legal battle between Chevron and a group of Ecuadorian villagers continues. In the past, Chevron has vowed to continue legal proceedings for as long as it can, alluding to the fact that they will continue appeal any verdict against them. It does seem that a verdict against them is likely. Perhaps even in the amount of $27 Billion in damages.
This would be a huge victory for the Ecuadorians, and for all humans who are concerned about the planet and the havoc that corporations cause on the natural world. Finally a corporation will be held accountable for its actions! It will be the first time an American multi-national will be held liable for actions in the developing world.
Wouldn’t it be nice if Chevron took responsibility for its own actions?
That’s what a new video and online petition is encouraging Chevron’s new CEO, John Watson to do… to visit Ecuador and see for himself the damage that was done and actually try to deal productively with the crisis in Ecuador.
Take a couple of minutes, watch the video and sign the petition. Tell Chevron that you care about how they handle their debacle in Ecuador. Here is another good article about the release of this video.
It won’t take long, sign the petition now!!
