The New Era of Responsibility has begun…
It is an exciting time that we have just entered… A time of new beginnings with Barack Obama leading the way. It is a time of renewed hope, positive attitudes and new responsibilities.
In his inaugural address, Obama said the following:
“What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility – a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task.”
This blog and website is dedicated to promoting this new era of repsonsibility, focusing on corporate responsibility – socially and environmentally. We will address and discuss numerous opportunities for us all to take action and help promote this new era.
The first issue that we will examine is the pending suit between Indigenous people of Ecuador and Chevron Texaco. It is essential that Chevron Texaco be held accountable for the way they conducted business in Ecuador.
